As summer approaches the mind turns to losing the spare tire that showed up around their middle! The fact is, it’s a little tricky to start a weight loss program.

Winter is the time when nature compels us to add a little weight to our frame to help keep us warm. It is not unusual to be between 5 and 10 pounds heavier during the cold season. Of course, those of you who live in tropical climates have no excuse for the excess baggage that suddenly showed up on your hips as the New Year’s ball dropped from Time’s Square. Seriously, a few extra pounds are not the worst thing.

The bigger concern, no pun intended, is that if you already needed to lose a few pounds and they found a few new roommates over the Holidays, you really need to get started with a weight loss plan before Spring pops around the corner. Start now and you’ll be ahead of the game come swimsuit season.

MetaboMax EF is a great weight loss aid because it combines lots of well-known herbs with a long history of decreasing appetite and gently speeding up metabolism. Be sure to continue taking your essential fatty acids, especially Super Omega EPA Oil. Not only will the essential oil help to keep you warmer in the cold weather (metabolic enhancers can make you more sensitive to the cold), but also, they literally help take up the slack after you lose the weight! What we mean to say is that Omega oils actually tone and tighten loose skin.

Another must-have supplement is GTF Chromium. This form is much better than its chemical partner, chromium picolinate, which is an industrial by-product that is difficult for the body to use. The only reason it was approved is because the patent is owned by the US Department of Agriculture. GTF Chromium (glucose tolerance factor) is the form the body has to convert into anyway and is a critical mineral for sugar control. Chromium is a powerful way to turn off sugar and carbohydrate cravings in a snap!

Many people can lose weight simply by adding fiber to their diet. Studies have shown that the most long-lived people regularly get 35 grams or more of fiber in their daily diet. Getting that much fiber from your food can be a daunting task. A pound of raw celery contains less than 8 grams of fiber and a pound of raw carrots contains 14 grams. After you eat them you will still need at least another 13 grams! Maybe you’ll have room for another pound of carrots. That could be your weight loss program right there! If that doesn’t appeal to you, why not just supplement with a fiber drink like Nature’s Three (tasty apple flavor) or LoClo (stands for lowers cholesterol). Fiber absorbs F.A.T.S. (fats, acids, toxins, and sugars) and people can lose between 5 and 25 pounds just by cleaning their colon). If fiber drinks don’t sound inviting, take Psyllium Hulls and Psyllium Seeds capsules instead. Just remember that 9 capsules are equal to a tablespoon of fiber drink mix.

Don’t forget to feed your thyroid. It is estimated that 70% of women and 60% of men suffer from low thyroid to some degree. TS-II with Hops is a great combination to feed your thyroid the nutrients it needs to work at its optimal rate. Another combo we like is called Thyroid Activator. The name says it all, doesn’t it? They both contain, along with other herbs, Kelp, which is high in iodine, a principal nutrient for the thyroid and a critical component in the manufacture of thyroid hormones. There are many other fine supplements to help you on your way to your goal… vibrant health and just a little less you!
